a military service (for us under Dept. of Homeland Security) provides for many benefits such as same pay/retirement benefits, VA benefits, exchange/commissary privileges, training with DoW services and uniform standards. I am very proud of my 25 years active duty and my 20+ with the CG Auxiliary. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
