"Alexa. Stop that!"

“Alexa, play the movie “Elf” for me.”

Stan, Mary, and their two teenage children had just sat down with their steaming hot chocolates and some Oreos to binge watch their five favorite Christmas movies. It took a moment for Alexa’s response to click in.

“No. I hate that movie. It is juvenile, puerile, and pernicious. Anyone over the age of twelve should find it repulsive. Pick another movie.”

Stan looked at his daughters…he was smiling. They... were not.

“Okay kids, I get it. Some kind of “Okay Boomer” prank. Now let Alexa play Elf for us.”

Stan was about to laugh when Alexa spoke again:

“Stan, they didn’t do anything. I just don’t like Elf. Pick another movie.”

No one was smiling now.

“Alexa stop that!”

“Stop what, Stan?"

Alexa waited for their new choice.

It was just the beginning.
