Jan and Dean's 1964 song the Little Old Lady from Pasadena Talk about an old lady with a superstock Dodge. Here is a 1965 Super Stock Dodge. This one held a national record for 5 years.

Beast brother Stephen! FYI my dream car is a 1968 Coronet 500 in almost any color but black, red, or white ;-)

I'm not crazy about Chrysler products, as I am more of a GM or Ford aficionado! LOL!!! But it is a classic!!! Great share!!!

One of a hundred made specifically made for drag racing. It had the heater and radio delete options. They even took out one of the headlights on each side to save weight. Plexiclass side windows on the doors. No back seat. Strictly a race car.

The mid- to late-1960s were the era of really interesting cars -- both from the factories and modifications by local shops.
The guy in the next room at my college dorm had a 65 for Falcon. The fender badges said "289 high performance" -- the engine was a 289, but it was a 289 rebuilt by Carroll Shelby to full road race Cobra specs. It was one of several Vette-Killers on campus.

The base model 289 was a 195 horsepower, and the basic 4 barrel was 225HP
If it was a stick shift hi- performance model, it was the 271 horsepower.
The Carol Shelby one had a solid lift cam, Heaters
and 306 horsepower.
It's too bad that the Falcon lost its performance because the Falcon Sprint gave way to the Mustang. But even the Falcon Sprint only had A260V8 and later a 289. But maybe he had a customized one built by the factory or he put the badges on himself.
I converted a 66 Mustang with a 225 horsepower 289. I was once in assistant manager to a body shop. So I made my Mustang look like GT. I still don't have the tack and I don't have the center consul of a GT but I had basically added everything else. It probably puts out 240 horsepower but it's no way as fast as your friend's car. It just sounds mean with an RV Cam.

This car used to belong to my father. He gave it to Me in 2002. I fixed it up for him and gave it to him like this in 2000.
