Good R.E.D. Friday morning my Brothers and Sisters!
Yesterday's political discussions and resulting news spiels leaves a great deal of concern for all parties involved... I wonder who is really pulling the strings!
Oh well, thank the Lord nothing like that is going on with the JWST as it is just zipping along to its final destination at Lagrange Point L2 to begin its long awaited operation of seeking out what is in the universe as defined by the light at the beginning of time... or at least some 13-14 billion light years into the past, to the point in the evolution of the universe when the first stars were being formed...
Right this second, the JWST has completed 96.8953% of its journey to "L2" and it is some 870,815.9 miles from Planet Earth and only has a scant 27,888 miles to go!!!
NASA Goddard had taken this live video down yesterday, presumably to update or fix something in the transmission...probably the animation, which to me looks pretty awesome!!!
When you watch it (and I hope you do), please watch it in FULL SCREEN MODE ON THE LARGEST SCREEN YOU HAVE AVAILABLE TO YOU, SO YOU CAN TAKE IN THE DETAIL...
Sometime on Sunday or early Monday morning (Eastern) it will reach its operational position...and then, folks after some tweaking, the fun begins!
I hope you are enjoying the journey of the JWST!
Kerry

As do I Lt Col Charlie Brown!!! However, what it sees may not be what we expect... It won't be like taking a photo of a beautiful mountain or ocean scene, but rather it will be an infrared image...or so I envision... The results should be outstanding knowledge of our universe!
