I think the Iranian leaders are crapping their pants and hoping an inept, bumbling "retaliation" will not further antagonize Donald "John Wayne" Trump. To top it off, one of their jittery, scared to death anti-aircraft battery crews shot down a civilian airliner.
Want to bet those Mullahs are casting an uneasy eye to the sky while going to and from the office, these days? If someone enjoys chanting for your death on a regular basis, there's a lot to be said for scaring the living bejeezus out of them. As your dad undoubtedly told you at some point, never let anyone get comfortable with treating you badly. Pretty sure it works the same on the international level.

Can't help it, I don't like any of them over there. They kill their own sisters in honor killings, they have those damned "dancing boys" (institutionalized pedophilia), they strap suicide bombs on mentally handicapped children, etc. I don't like any of them.
