THE WILL OF GOD
Every time we read today’s Bible verses, we should be encouraged. Paul gives his instructions to the Church, calling them to love, act justly, and do the will of God. Not only did Paul tell the Church how they can accomplish the Will of God, but he broke it down into three simple steps.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” (I Thessalonians 5:16-18)

How will you become the kind of person that Paul describes in these Bible verses? God will work it out because He is faithful.

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it. (I Thessalonians 5:23-24)

God’s will is simple; rejoice, pray, and give thanks. We do all of these all the time now, even though we are all just reminded again today that God will complete this work in us. Don’t feel overwhelmed because you are not doing those three things all day long!

Believers have reasons for joy in both their experience of salvation and their hope of what God will do in the future, but they need to express that joy; there is a right place for this expression of joy. They also need to pray to make requests to God, since the next command is about the need to be thankful. Sometimes the pressure of fulfilling them all the time and in all circumstances can get in the way.

This does not mean that you pray all day uninterruptedly, but you need to pray regularly and frequently. Paul also says, God wants His people to be joyful, prayerful, and thankful, and God makes it possible for them to be so.

God doesn’t expect us to rejoice, pray, and express gratitude uninterruptedly, but often. Now can you picture yourself living a life where you rejoice often and a life where you are thankful often? Now can you picture yourself communicating with God often throughout the day?

“For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” (Romans 8:14)

Paul also found out that the Holy Spirit assisted him in prayer as he sought to know and do God’s will. As you go about your day today, let the Holy Spirit help you rejoice, pray, and express gratitude to God. When you realize God’s presence, it will be nearly impossible for you to act outside of God’s will. Now that is true security!

Will you ask the Holy Spirit to help you today?
Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.
“Heavenly Father, today I make a conscious decision, asking Your Holy Spirit to lead me in rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, and in everything giving thanks; for this is the will of You, God, in Christ Jesus for me. I know this day and the days ahead will have distractions from this prayer, but I am asking You to bring this to my remembrance. I want to be as You will, not what I may want to choose in the moment. I have joy, knowing I can bring everything to You and give thanks. Thank You, Father. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

It just hit me that we can ask for prayer on RP. That's a lot more people praying for someone than normal.
Thanks for the post.
