OH... THIS..? ~~~ If So, THAT's a GOOD Thing!!....
"Obama-era school nutrition policy led to better diets for students but faces changes"
The Nutritional Values Were Made Better.... THAT's A "Problem"?
And I'd Easily Wager, "That Photo Isn't Of Anything Which Students Were Served".
Is It Not Obvious To You, As Well?...It Certainly Should Be....
In The ENTIRE 13 Years I Was A School Employee,
I NEVER Saw ANYTHING Served On STYROFOAM..

SGT (Join to see) - He might not have cooked them personally, but it was his wife's idea to what all went into them. The stories going around here was that the kids wouldn't eat them and was throwing 99% of the meal in the trash.

School Meals Should Always Be Free.
Sometimes It's The Only Full Meal A Child Will Have For The Day;
Foods Are a Major Issue With Many Families.
While Employed In Our Schools, There Were Never Any "Left Overs".
What Ever Wasn't Consumed That Same Day, Was Packaged & Given To Students To Take Home To Their Family's.
Food Was Never Wasted, It Was Invested..

Having a two children currently in school, 5th and 7th, I am not convinced it well spent money. They always come home hungry and some of the stuff my daughter brings home is a joke. I would rather see that money invested in teachers and we go back to old school of the parents providing for their children when their income is a certain level. I was proud in grade school I was one of the kids that had to pay for lunch because the money my Dad made as an RN and as a second generation RN, my kids would be in the same situation. My kids dont need the free food.

MAJ Byron Oyler - ..... Perhaps YOUR Kids Don't Need FREE Food Major, But 1000's Of Others DO.. Before Retiring I Was An Employee Of The Clark County School District For Over 13 Years ... There Are MANY Children Who'd Go Hungry Were It NOT For The Free Lunch Programs; And For Many Of THEM, This Will Be Their ONLY Meal For The Day...
I've Watched As Some Of Them Put Parts Of THEIR Lunch Into Their Pockets To Be Taken Home For Other Members Of Their Family. When The Cafeteria Has Food Remaining At The End Of The Day, It's Packed & Given To Others To Take Home For Their Families..
I'm Pleased That Your Family Is Well Fed Major, But Many Others Are Not.....
And Sir, FYI... Your Kids, Nor The Others, Are Getting Well Educated In Our Schools..... And Unless It Changes, THAT'S Where Your Money's Been Wasted And Will Continue To BE Wasted.
I Don't Know Exactly How You Feel Major, But I'd Not Allow a Stray DOG To Go Hungry,
There's NO Excuse For It.
Perhaps You May Believe Me To Have A "Bad Attitude",
But Maybe My Bio May You Help Understand. There ARE Reasons..

A1C Medrick "Rick" DeVaney - I concur with you. We need to find ways to feed kids who go hungry.

MAJ Ken Landgren - ......Properly Feeding Our Kids Is An Investment In Their Future... Hunger Reduces a Persons Ability To Concentrate On The Projects At Hand; Mainly Of Course, Their Studies. ... Food & Nourishment Are The Necessary Components To Aid In Their Concentration, Memories, And Success; Both In School And At Home.
Although My Personal Experience With The American Education System Isn't Very Great, Here's a Copy Of a Message I Sent To "The Federal Department Of Education" In DC:
It's Referring To Free Education

I'll Make This As Short As Possible: Reference Free Education
If We Pay For College Degrees, The Grads Will Get Better Paying Employment,
And Pay More In Taxes For The Rest Of Their Life:
THAT Alone, Will Repay For The Cost O Their College Education....PLUS Change.
And WE Get A Much Better Quality Of Citizens In The Process, A WIN-WIN Situation,

,,I'm 78 And Self Educated....So It Does ME No Particular Benefit...
Just The WORLD In The Near Future !

Is It Worth Consideration.?
