Primary Mirror Deployment! - James Webb Tracker! #NASA #WEBB

Good R.E.D. Friday Morning from the middle of the "Stawm" we have in the Greater Boston Area!!! We have about 8 inches now and expected to give us several more inches before it abates!
No "Stawm" in the trek that the James Webb Space Telescope is on today... It is now some 640,589 miles from Earth and 258,115 miles to go to reach its Lagrange Point - L2 orbiting point... It has completed 71.3% of its journey! In this time period today, the Deployment of the Left /port (+V2 primary mirror wing, which holds three of the 18 mirror segments of the Main mirror... It is a motor driven deployment and that motor must work for this deployment to be successful... The illustrations in the lower center of the video depict the deployment process.

We only a little snow here, not the 4 - 6 inches they originally predicted but the roads were iced over in many spots so school everywhere in Northeast Tennessee has been cancelled including my school district. Honestly I would really rather be at school because we are going to have to make this day up later.

Yep! I get it and don't blame you for feeling this way... We have about 3 or so more hours of snow before it tapers off... It is pretty to see, but not to drive in! LOL!
