My friend Tony is a Lobster Dealer/Exporter out off Essex Mass. I should give him a call and see what he thinks, how it has affected him? He was shipping a lot to China....Hope his NY business is better. He still has "Woodman's of Essex".....

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - I had lunch at Legal's in Southie with my Brother on Friday and he asked me when the last time I talked to Tony was....I said it had been awhile....Calling! *** I had a Lobster Roll!

PO1 William "Chip" Nagel - He is down on bulk to third parties....100# crates but local has filled the gap nicely he says. Local being from NYC to Cape Ann (Gloucester) says he's doing fine. He also said word on the wharf was that it should ease up soon.

Trade wars like this self imposed one are stupid. No one gains, especially the American consumer as prices start escalating in response.
We do see the temp lowering of prices as producers sell off their formerly exported goods to get something for them but then prices adjust to take in acct new production costs. Even Trump has realized that so he's touting subsidies to help offset the pain he is inflicting on Americans.
On the plus side, Dems has at least for the moment learned something about economics-tariffs hurt people. This was news to them

But should US milk cost over 100% more in Canada? Make it the same 2% for all countries...it is a hidden tax but used against stupid countries like us agreeing to that.

SSgt GG-15 RET Jim Lint - that is something to ask Canadian consumers, their government is doing the same thing to them for the dairy industry that Trump is now doing to Americans for the sake of the steel industry.
