In a past part of my life, I did a Radio Show for a while. I did a survey and asked my Audience if they could be any age...what age would they pick? Before I reveal the Answer, I have to add this: Not a single one of the thousands who wrote (or called in) was willing to go back to their Youth...if they had to give up the lessons, experiences, and knowledge they had now. I thought that was important to point out. "I'll go back. But not to start over."
There was no internet back then, so calling and writing were the only ways to let me know your thoughts. Cave man days. No texts. No emails. No Cell phones.
So the results were pretty clear.
Men: "Age 23-25."
Yep. Most men felt that was when they were the strongest, smartest, handsome nest- and at their peak. A few said 30 or so. But not many.

Women: "Age 19-21." With again a few saying 30 or so. And one woman called in and said: "I want to be 14 again." I asked her why?
"Because that is the year before I got sick."
Yeah, I get that one.

And there was one other age group women wanted to be...sixteen. Yep. Apparently all those songs about "Sweet Sixteen" had some groundwork in reality.
One lady told me: "A normal sixteen year old girl, who has developed, is Nature's Beauty Queen. All the guys think you are cute. All your girlfriends are as pretty as you. And your skin is smooth, and life is good."

The guys, well, they thought they were best looking in their early 20's. And funnily enough, women brought up maturity a lot, but not the guys. So the girls basically wanted to be pretty and mature. The guys wanted to be strong and play!

I have reached the age where I don't want to go back at all. My tour of duty is coming to a close. And I enjoyed every moment of it. But when I look back at pictures of my Kathy and I...well, if I wore short shorts like those nowadays, I would feel indecent.
Who wears Short shorts?
Apparently we all did in the sixties and seventies. But I am not going back to those either.
Happy New Year.

Good on you! One of my buddies turned 95 yesterday. And he wishes he was 90 again. I asked him why? "So I could play tennis again." Tennis at 90!!! Guys like you, and him, are just genetic freaks enjoying life. Good on you!

SSgt Richard Kensinger you have just defied a number. Optimal health is what you worked towards, the age is incidental.
