Ditch what? Manicures? The lack of physical fitness? Years out of duty to get an uterus installed? "Shoot a gun? It might break my nails!"? The Army invited all this non-warfighting crap in to the ranks. It will take decades to get it back out.

So they want to go back to the pre-Desert Storm Army? In the 80's and 90's, even Guard units participated in at least Division Level Staff Exercises.
