I guess I would draw an analogy. Unverified members should be treated as undocumented aliens - they can't vote. That would encourage folks to get on a pathway to citizenship, as it were.

It has been my observation that some of these appear to simply bored people looking for new frontiers for trolling. The random civilian members that have popped up lately are particularly galling and don't know jack about 75% of the military-related discussions.

1SG (Join to see) - My standard comment is that when they have reward points/cash attached to them, I will pay far more4 attention. I do tend to use them to see if I am off base in many of my posts, that is the only reason I pay attention. MAJ Yinon Weiss explained in a PM why this can't be done easily. He should repeat his explanation to all. I now understand the rationale, even though I disagree with the policy.

Cant RP set up the profile to require certain fields be entered? I know that doesn't assure correct names but if they would not be allowed to post or vote until they are verified that would stop this in its tracks.

My personal opinion is a down vote should require a response. ..If I were King for a day, clicking the down vote button would bring up a pop up window that can not be cleared, closed, bypassed and would not allow any further actions on RP until it is filled in with a reason for the downvote, completing the down vote process and closing the pop up.

Some of my Admin peers disagree greatly with the need to provide response along with a downvote.
I see it as useful information to the downvoted, respectful in ones standing by thier word, and professional .. My view is not shared by those in charge.. to each his own.

Capt Seid Waddell But if they have to be verified before they can vote or post this would stop.

PO2 Mark Saffell, I have seen verified newbies that use the down vote to register disagreement with ideas posted. In fact, most of the down votes I have seen have come from newbies.

I also think that down votes should be able to be reversed if its obvious its a disagreement of opinion rather than an attack on the individual.

No Shit, it's about time that RP do something about this. If they really want to improve RP and make changes, this should be one of their top priorities for 2016! I mean, WTF-Over!
