The only place I really enjoyed was Vincenza, Italy. It is a rather small Army base in the North East part of Italy. I am Italian, and haven't been to other parts of Europe.

I would definitely go back if the opportunity presented itself.

What about you, could you live anywhere you've been deployed to?

I went to Jungle Training down in Panama in 1997 when I was in HHC 2/504 PIR.....it was awesome. The training was some of the best training I received in the Army even to this day and the area down there is beautiful. I really enjoyed looking out of our barracks at Fort Sherman and seeing the Ocean daily. The food was good and Panama City was awesome. Other than that, I would live anywhere in Europe.

SSG(P) (Join to see) 30 years Navy, 3 years in Naples (a great place to see much of Europe as a starting point), 10 years on ships, these are just a few of the MANY places I have been. When they said, Join the Navy and see the world, I took it literally. Atlantic Ocean; Caribbean Sea; Mediterranean Sea; Western, Eastern, and Southern Pacific Ocean; Indian Ocean; North Atlantic. Both sides of the Suez and Panama Canals (but never through while in the Navy). So, yes, I guess I got around a little. LOL Wife and I just got back from a River Cruise between Saint Petersburg to Moscow and the adventure just keeps getting better.

TSgt Kevin Buccola I have been to Lakenheath a few times and visited Mildenhall. I love the old English Pubs like The Nutshell, purported to be the smallest Pub in the UK.

Honduras - loved the weather, loved the landscape and the access to things, and the cost of living was pretty dang nice.

Done a 6 month deployment there for force protection at the beginning of the wars. Was National Guard Infantry and they spun us up to go to different areas. Our company was split in 3 different areas. Belgium, Brussels, and the Netherlands. Now that I think about it Netherlands wasn't a bad place either.

I would love to live in Italy, I was deployed to Vicenza Italy where I lead the transformation of SETAF into Army Africa. I married an Italian and I love the culture, the people and the history of this country. The lifestyle is not like in the United States. In places like Venice and Florence it is like time has slowed down and these cities have not caught up to modern time. They are as they were hundreds of years ago. In the country sides there are markets vs large super markets like there was in days gone by. The people enjoy life a little wine, pizza or pasta. Even in Vicenza you can find the markets, the wine making, the old and the modern mixed into a harmonious blend. I am sure I will retire in Italy as well as the US. 50% there and 50% in the US.

The talking I don't mind -- but dental hygiene in BiH is virtually non-existent, even with younger people. I'd see some absolutely stunning women there, and BOOM, snaggletooth grill.

Speaking of talking, I ended up being very quiet there so I didn't tell as many jokes.
