Please post the slide similiar to this one here that shows the rank of the former POTUS by rank. Does anyone have a slide similar to this? I just was impressed 2 years ago by slide similar to this posted before Battalion BUB. I am sure some command and staff member or enlisted has the slide I am looking for.

LTC Stephen Conway thanks for bringing this to RP. I have not seen a slide, would be a nice project per se'. Wow never really thought about, interesting and intriguing at the same time. I know General Washington is the highest ranking officer of all time. Known as General of the Armies with a date of rank on 1776.

LTC John Mohor - I knew he was a 6 Star, Sir, but not that it was awarded posthumously. Good to know!

LTC John Mohor - LTC Stephen Conway I've read that Major and have also seen some drawings of what the rank may have looked like! Pretty neat.

General Washington was promoted to General of the Armies with a further declaration that no officer of the United States Military should ever outrank George Washington. My understanding is that the Rank of General of the Armies carries an effective grade of 0-12 (6-star) but the actual insignia has never been worn. I know there were attempts to get MacArthur and Bradley promoted, but failed.

It is out there and I have a picture of it but I have thousands of digital pictures and I am still looking. It will be faded once I find it but I felt it would be better to find the slide here by other RP members helping out.

Nope but it is pretty cool. Still remember Teddy resigned as Assistant Secnav to go fight and although the Papers gave him and his Rough Riders credit for San Juan Hill, He Gave the Credit to the Buffalo Soldiers and what they did on the Hill the day before.

LTC Stephen Conway - Most Definitely. Didn't matter though the papers downplayed that part and everybody forgot about the Contributions of the Buffalo Soldiers until much later. Being a Jayhawker I know about the Buffalo Soldiers.

LBJ's war service was pretty bogus. He, as a member of Congress ( landslide Lyndon), visited the Pacific as special representative of the POTUS. While flying in a Navy PBY that was strafed by a Zero, he ended up with a Silver Star. The crew just had a little excitement. The SS resulted from his mother writing her Texas Senator, who pressured the U.S. Navy. Voila! Stranger get high award for bravery, returns to Washington. BOGUS!

MAJ (Join to see) - It is chicken Sh-t that the crew did not get the airman's medal or the Distinguished flying cross (if it was offered then)!

LTC Stephen Conway - I do sometimes have a somewhat faulty memory, but I definitely do not make this (bogus) stuff up. Thanks for the diligent research and post. My ebook has definite operator "headspace (and timing) challenges. Lol. John B.

MAJ (Join to see) - It has been a twilight zone here in the last 7 years and now Carl Levin is getting a warship named after him. Not as bogus as a Silver Star but protocols are being broken left and right now and I can't wait for things to hopefully get back to normal. I just hope the new normal is not a war optempo and full mobilizatoin due to our lack of attention to detail and being too trusting of our enemies failing to keep our defense posture up instead of worrying about global warming.
