I have a great affinity for well-done snarky signature lines/quotes. &nbsp;I never disseminate them out to other organizations; they're just little in-jokes between the folks in my shop to keep us laughing. &nbsp; Some of my past favorites:<br><br>"Your ability to walk short distances without dying will surely be the insurgency's downfall."<br><br>"...And in careful manipulation of data samples, lies victory." &nbsp;(Context: Worked with a guy that had a bad habit of playing with data samples to control a narrative in his favor, so I made a small play on the MI Creed; original reads "In truth, lies victory.")<br><br>"I can show you the world..." (The irony of this song in Afghanistan is just incredible.)<br><br><br>What are the best signature lines you all have seen?

I knew a FIST team leader who had "All the way to the elbow!" On his emails.

One that I thought was a misrepresentation and slightly humorous at the same time was used by one of the WO that I had served with. It read:

"Artillerymen see two types of people, other Artillerymen and targets."

Not entirely true, we have 3, friends go among that list too. But, still a little humorous to me.

<p>I was given a coin by one of the SF Groups I ran missions with in Mosul.&nbsp; I used it's motto in my singature block for a long time till it landed me an EO complaint when I got stationed in the hospital.</p><p>"Hard times dont last, hard men do."</p><p>The sad thing is that statement really motivates me sometimes, it's a shame an O6 found it offensive and I was forced to remove it.</p>

In today's "green environment", one of the best I have seen on an email signature block......

If your going green, I am going to the printer!

A lieutenant with whom I worked had this crazy Latin quote under his signature. I googled it one day out of curiosity and discovered its true meaning was "Don't get your undies in a twist".

Some of these are pretty good. If I had to use one it would be "He called me a POG, I said he was resisting arrest", but someone would surely get offended by that some how.

I used to have quotes in my signature until the reg was written to prohibit them.  I still see some of the retirees use them though; some are actually good.

The last signature snark I made was in an email trail featuring several intel officers that kept putting their "callsigns" in their signature blocks.  Somewhere in the final email chain was a signature block that said:

JUSTIN "AFMAN 33-119 PROHIBITS CALLSIGNS IN SIGNATURE BLOCKS" BLACKWELL, TSgt, USAF

Kind of a long one, but I used to use this one:

"[Signal] is the most thankless job in the United States Army...we give you equipment that in many cases is outdated and outmoded...not enough of it, and you're told to go out and make things work in the field just as if someone was operating in the middle of New York City with their cell phone and their push-to-talk radio and everything else. If it all works properly, no one says thank you, because everyone expects that's the way it's supposed to work. But if anything electric -- electric, not just electronic much less communications-wise -- breaks, doesn't work properly, it's the SIGO's fault."

Yes sir, can definitely apply to many other fields as well.  As a contractor on a help desk, I've had the dubious pleasure of answering the phone for many a flag officer or SES assistant regarding communications issues.

a day, but set a man on fire and he's warm for the rest of his life."
