“Bitchin’ Betty” Says Farewell: Beloved Voice Behind Boeing’s F/A-18 Super Hornet Retires
– Stern. Sharp. Bossy. All have been used to describe the voice of the Boeing F/A-18’s cockpit warning system. The pilots and technicians refer to the voice ...
Leslie Shoot aka Bitchin' Betty. Any F-18 pilot or maintainer would know her voice the moment they powered on the aircraft or entered any critical situation. Sadly, Boeing has informed us that "Betty" is going to retire.
Has her voice ever saved your life? Do you have any "Bitchin'" moments with her?

PO2 Alfredo Pacheco Awesome post! Thanks for posting it. I didn't know the f18 had a voice like that. I like watching the Air Crash investigation series, so I'm pretty familiar with Boeing and Airbus 'Terrain, pull up. Terrain, pull up' calls, but I didn't know military jets had them.

Oh yeah. All but the helos have them. I've only worked on H-60's my entire career so I never had the honor of hearing her. I did find out about her when I first joined while the tomcats where still around. Unlike the civilian ones, these yell at you to get your attention since you kinda are in a situation that isn't like normal aircraft. LOL
Doing 500 kts at 300 ft, if she tells you to roll right and pull up you do it.
