I must agree with these UT professors. I don't think it's right to carry guns in class rooms...I do not feel it's necessary. We have enough school shootings as it is.

Of course the people who want to kill students and professors will carry guns in the classrooms. The only people who won't have one are the victims. The problem with banning guns anywhere is that the people who are the problem pay no attention and the good people are defenseless.

Putting up a big sign that says "Gun Free Zone" only invites the crazies to come shoot people there knowing there will be no danger or opposition. It is the dumbest anti-gun idea anyone ever thought of. I hope there are 2 or 3 guys armed in class with me, that way I know we are gunna take out the bad guy and everyone else will go home safe after class. It's been demonized, but it is true, "The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is with a good guy with a gun." -- Wayne LaPierre

People who carry (legally) have gone through training and testing here in Texas. The only other people who would carry are those who carry illegally. I'd trust those with their CHL before anyone who would carry without. And I'd rather legal owners have the opportunity to defend themselves when an illegal carrier is in the immediate vicinity.

Cpl (Join to see) i suppose so, but even legal carriers can have a screw loose.

Sgt Kelli Mays Screws can and will loosen up until the day we die. It's going to happen it's not a matter of if. I just want the ability to defend myself if and when it happens. Removing that choice from people only removes that right from law-abiding people. I'd rather not go through life being afraid of a loose screw, unless it's in an engine compartment on a plane I'm boarding.
