ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

SSG Kevin McCulley,
My wife made me laugh. "Kevin, you were a Sergeant, why didn't you look like that?"
I am still chuckling. Thanks for your service!

September 1988, 20 years old, at Fort Knox, Kentucky. That kid has no idea how much his life would change in the next 2 years, changes that still resonate through my life to this day...Just spent 2 hours catching up with 2 guys I served with in Korea in 1989, we are still very close to each other as we were then.

SFC William Farrell I certainly did, 21 years young & single. I believe it is much tamer now than it was in our days, although the DMZ was hot until after the Axe Murder Incident in 1976.

Yes, i was 17 then and stationed at Camp Saint Barbara, which was only a few miles south of DMZ. Went to Nam after that. I can still say a few words in Korean. My wife and i own a Bed and Breakfast and we just had Korean guests stay with us, they always love it when you talk to them in Korean. But it was a real short conversation! I am glad you enjoyed your time there as I did!
Actually stopped at Fort Knox to visit my twin brother who was stationed there after Nam. I actually flew down on the plane with some gray haired guy, that would be me today! Found out he was Colonel Sanders from KFC!

Suspended Profile
This was about six years ago at an IP station south of Kirkuk, Iraq. It is probably the earliest picture I have, though I had been in over two years at that point.

Here is a picture of my with two of my best friends after a wedding at West point, NY a month after we graduated and before we went to our basic courses. The next month I went to the Infantry Mortar Platoon Officers Course [IMPOC] and Fort Benning, GA just before Infantry Officers Basic Course [IOBC].

You were enlisted first and then went to West Point LTC Ford? I's sharp, how did i notice that? Looking good. I used to pull MP duty up there with my reserve unit out of NYC. was last there two years ago for retiree appreciation days. Hit LTG Huntoon up for two of his coins!

SFC William Farrell, as far as recognizing that I was enlisted first, I suspect you noticed my Good Conduct ribbon on my dress blues, My enlisted service is also listed on my profile page. Yes the West Point Army post is a beautiful place on the banks of the Hudson River full of history. It was both a beautiful and extremely challenging place.
