ALL New Connections - Back by Popular Demand! I'm still receiving some great photos from all you RP Members. THANKS!
Keep them coming!
All you photogenic military personnel out there in RP Land let’s have a little photo session just to lighten it up today! Share the first photograph or the earliest photograph of yourself when you entered the military and tell us the date of the photo.
I'll start with Private Burroughs in 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO & end with Colonel Mikel in 2005!

Defense Language Institute, Monterrey, CA. My DD-214 says I was nothing, no training, no MOS. So, I'm not quite sure what the hell I am.

That is a really good picture does it look like you have changed much. Just curious did you stay in the military and get assigned a MOS or did you get out of the service before you completed AIT? I only ask because in a earlier post you did not say what your MOS was or is. I was a 97E or 35M now HUMINT just curious if you had the same MOS as me.

Brand new gold bars, taken at the Aquarium Restaurant in Nashville. My wife and I were driving from Maxwell back to Ohio to collect our stuff before heading down to Pensacola.
Apparently I don't have any pictures of the commissioning ceremony on my laptop, but I do have this picture in service dress with the officer trainee rank.

Nice picture with the seafarers. What ship were you assigned to during your first re-enlistment?

COL Mikel J. Burroughs here is my first picture in uniform. January 1975 at Fort Leonard Wood, MO graduation from Basic Training from D-1-3 in the aluminum-sided Quonset huts. After this we marched across post to B-2-4 for Advanced Individual Training as 12B Combat Engineer. The first set of WWII wooden barracks we marched into were soon declared unsafe after the stairs collapsed.
FYI I added two pictures of me with broken foot in 12B AIT. I was young and foolhardy and got the cast wet and had to keep the cast on twice as long as I should have if I didn't get it wet. I am glad I matured beyond that age :-)
