I am being told to go to PT by the command on only 4-5 hours of sleep. As a junior enlisted, how do I solve this problem?

We have a new 1SG and new commander. The 1SG noticed one day that only 5 people in the whole company showed up to PT. Now he put out to all the platoon Sergeants that everyone must show up to PT at either the 0530 formation or the 1600 formation.
However, my section is the only one in the hospital that has a 1600-0000 shift. I am being told by my first line that the 1SG says that I have to be at the morning formation, no exceptions.
I don’t want to sound like I’m whining but at the same time it’s unfortunate that I have to explain to myself as to why this isn’t right.
As a junior enlisted I do feel stuck.
How do I bring this issue up and solve this effectively and professionally?
Also: Do you know of any Army Regulations that can support anything?

Go to PT. Remember in the military combat does not operate on an alarm clock.

Go assault a follow on objective after being up for three days. ..
Two Days Later. Upon return to base. Head back to the flight line. ODA got a hit on an HVT. We're blocking the Paki border for the next two days.

LOL Go to PT. pretty cut and dry to me.
Back in the day, we would go down Academy Blvd in Colorado Springs, on sunday nights. One of the clubs was ladies night on Sundays. We would get back to Carson around 2 or 3am...totally blitzed.
We would get maybe 2 hrs of sleep....and would make our way to the aid station, which was in the courtyard of the barracks area. Our boy would then hook us up with some 'combat IV's". then we would walk out right as PT formation was happening...and we would push through it :)

So what you're telling me is you'd be done with PT by 630ish yes?
Not the most inconvenient schedule, but it's not unmanageable. I suggest you quit ... as you put it .... complaining, and soldier on. You've got plenty of time to sleep; it's just not an "ideal" day.
If it bothers you that much, talk to you immediate supervisors about talking with the 1SG, and don't get your hopes up.

I read all the replies and many many said basically "Suck It Up Buttercup" BUT...Consider This guy works at a hospital...do you really want a guy that for what ever reason did not get a good nights' sleep giving you an enema or a urine catheter? Or God Forbid the wrong dose of Ultra Colon Blow Stool Softener? NO NO NO, change PT time so that they get some sleep before they come after you with the razor before surgery or next thing you know you might be an involuntary transgenner.

So, you get the hours between 0000 and 0530 to rest. Then, you have to PT, followed by some time to shower and eat breakfast. Let’s say that you complete all of this by 0900. From your description, this means you have another 9 hours of your own time?
Go PT.
Go PT.

The demand you attend PT at 0530 is not unreasonable. That gives you at least 5 hours to sleep, and plenty of time to go back to sleep before you return to work at 1600. Others here are absolutely correct. When/if you deploy, you may get only 4-5 hours sleep anyway, with no time to get anymore. Welcome to adulting, military style.

This right here is the exact kind of leadership I have come to expect out of chiefs! Well done. You took to the indoctrination well. Fuck anyone who isn't a chief. There could be a simple solution like "work out before your shift or after your shift like everyone else in the command does", but you're a chief! You don't bother with shit like that. Take that reasonable request and throw it in the trash because it didn't come from another chief. But if a chief has the same problem, let's use that solution for them. You are one of the best chiefs and why I respect them so much. Good Job chief.

Spending their entire careers on deployment schedule isn't the way we take care of our own.
I've had Sailors who had to work split shifts or work the flight schedule... at sea. I would never consider recalling a Sailor five hours after the end of the work day as a matter of daily routine. That's what we're talking about - not deployment or combat.

Chief, there can be solution to her concerns that probably involve others within her Company or Battalion. How about having PT with others who might be in her situation and a group could do remedial PT at a more viable time with a Sqd Ldr or other NCO.
The issue is tantamount to a split shift which when necessary to complete a specific mission is fine ... but not for a daily routine in garrison (i.e., non-deployed).
Another consideration is that she's a Lab Tech and that's one MOS that requires a great deal of attention to detail. Getting it wrong, could easily compromise a doctor's patient and how they treat them with meds, etc.
