The word "offended" sadly has become the battle cry and slogan for 2015. I guess the real question is, who or what doesn't offend someone?

Don't worry. That is a medal to make those offended feel better. CMSgt (Join to see) has a bunch of them. She was even able to pull off a subsequent award for being offended for receiving her first award. She looks like Gen Patton with these things.

I learned a few years ago that all capital letters on an email means you are yelling at the person you are sending the email to. I was called into the commander's office to let me know about email protocol. I was baffled. This was on my first week on the job. Thanks office rangers!!

I think Americans are scared to stand up for what they believe in and yes it is hurting this country!

SCPO David Lockwood, thanks for responding and I agree with you, but how do we turn it around or will it keep getting worse?

I think it will get worse before it gets better. The Amercian people first have to remove all politicians and replace with new ones who are not afraid to say NO to other countries and will fix this country. Once they see the leadership stand up for this country then the rest should follow. Lead by example!

Is 2015 the year that everything and everyone is offensive? Have Americans become too politically correct? Has this hurt our great nation?

In all honesty, I believe a man using the phrase "im offended by this" should no longer carry a man card!

Of course, you will officiate the ceremony, Sir. I will stand there like Vanna White and hold the velvet covered-proffer board. :)

The answer of course, is that I don't give a rat sass if people choose to be offended or not - it is a free country and they can cry if they want to, it doesn't affect me one way or the other.

One of my favorite quotes is "offense is taken, not given." Those five words put a lot of things in context for me.

Being offended at the slightest provocation (especially imagined provocation) is a form of passive aggression. "Passive-aggression is frustrating to its targets, since it's not as easily identifiable—or unacceptable—as, say, socking someone in the jaw would be. For their part, passive-aggressive types can learn to express their anger in healthier ways, and stop sneaking around." Source:

It is a pathology that seems to infect many in America today, but in truth is merely a tactic used by those of a certain ideology to get the rest of us to sit down, shut up, and submit to tyranny...

The University of NH issued a list of 20 words that are to be used that are pc..the list is so outlandish I could not believe it came from a campus in the "Live Free or Die State." Yes, politically correct is going overboard and everyone is afraid of stepping on people's toes. Well, I feel some times people need their toes stepped on to get their attention. Remember the stress cards in the ARMY--MY Army?? I could not believe that...then there was a war. The hell with stress cards, there was real world training to to. Lets just be real. Cut the PC and be honest--don't have to be rude. When rounds are coming toward you, who has the time to be PC?
