With this latest threat, how concerned should the military be about its collective presence in Social Media? Are we going to see more attention paid to social footprints and OPSEC? Are more focused sites like RP a better option than the larger FaceTwit sites?
I am curious to see what actions the commands are going to take with this threat. I invite a discussion about this.

TSgt Hunter Logan, you put my application on the wrong stack! I know I clearly marked it for *personal* security, not cyber! I've been helping Texas women create... err, keep personal secrets since way back in the last millennium.
And I was careful to not mention that your version of a "hot mess" involves more plumbum than ponytails...

I thought that Texas women were more advanced and already knew how to leverage sociable media for validation of credentials, TSgt Hunter Logan.
And about those check boxes: The right box under "Security" was clearly labelled "In", which no self-respecting Good Ol' Boy would ever choose because we know nothing about In Security. The left one was labelled "Cyber", but I haven't practiced using with a cyber since I my first trip to Baghdad (I was a regular at the fencing club), so I demonstrated how traditionally centered I am by picking the middle box, which was *clearly* marked Personal -- and I excel at getting personal!
And I'm not interested in the High Ring, boss -- my Daddy taught me to always go for the Brass Ring...

I would join but I would have to bring either my machete or my samurai. Maybe I would bring em both in case anyone needs to borrow. Would you let me join MSgt Joshua Copeland?

CPT Aaron Kletzing, he won't need to pop smoke -- just put some influence points on a string and tape one end to your windshield. The string will point straight to wherever SFC Mark Merino is, just like a compass needle lining up on the North Pole...

Capt (Join to see), I seen stripes in at least one of those photos and what looked like a Command Master Chief pin on another.

Op, TSgt Joshua Copeland, you're right. Although technically a PO DOES have an "O" in the rank... ;)

Capt (Join to see), sssshhhhhh dont tell that to your peers. They tend to get a bit upset when we point out that NCO's are Officers too (just a different kind).

I get the whole OPSEC thing, but when it comes to ISIS and should we be worried, I am with 1LT Scott Doyle on this. I am not going to hide. We people in America carry guns and will kill you and shit. Just saying.

MAJ Paul Hoiland that surprises me sir. you could always head up farther north we have a nice group up here. But can't leave them to kill all those people wish I could handle the city life I would come down and help you do neighborhood watch. But outside for the funny looking vehicle and use my 308 to take out the gunner first. I agree with A1C Nathan Roberts on that one I would go talk to someone at the Mall of America and have them reminded of what occurred in that one shopping mall. Bet he would allow you to carry in if you proved you were ever connected with the military. Up here they love it with the fact that veterans are everywhere here. They even hire them as fast as they can to no they are more secure lol...

I agree with you, but when you live OCONUS, in a country with very restrictive laws, then you have to think in a different way. My eyes got opened when I attended a LRRP school run by the SAS. The Colonel(SAS) in his greeting address to us stated since we were attending a school run by the SAS we could now consider ourselves targets of the IRA. The room was very silent and made this country boy stop and think. That was years ago, and I've never stopped thinking.

SGM Mikel Dawson. I agree with the fact that some things are no ones business if I have a hand gun would not go for a permit or carry name would be on that list then. But up here out in the country out of city limits we are allowed to fire our weapons and target shoot etc...And it is a good feeling. I had a veteran friend move up here with his wife and both were hired on at the store. He came up and took a look at my shot gun for me he said wish I could shoot it. I sat up a can by my sandpile and said shoot it. He looked at me with wide eyes and said really are you sure really. I said go for it. He loved it. I also target shoot with my crossbow up here on my land and have a permit to hunt with one due to disabilities. Pitch a tent MAJ Paul Hoiland till the guest cabin gets built if you need too. Great fishing and hunting and lots of state woods to walk threw for freedom too.

More the reason to have a CCW. I'm older, slower and grumpier, which makes me a dangerous badass. Nothing meaner than an old, pissed-off veteran that knows how to play. Bring it!

Isn't every American on their hit list already?
I'd never pooh-pooh a threat, no matter how seemingly trivial and desperate, but this does have a comedic element to it. But, then again, I'm writing this from the safety of my house here in the USA. If I were overseas I'd be more concerned, especially for my family. There are too many people out there that can't wait to be martyrs.
All the best to those on the list and all the rest of us, as well.

Hey Morris you do look like one of the pictures. My advice in California you can get your Conceal Carry. I know that buddies in CA have received theirs.

This could be some upsetting information. #2 and #3 do not surprise me as that is where the majority of their forces are currently. #1 remains one of our largest allies in the area, which is still strange to me (note for clarity: I find it strange that Saudi Arabia is our biggest ally in the area still, not that they support ISIS so much).
But the United States having such a large array of supporters within this sample size is upsetting, especially with the OP talking about calling for the death of these service members.
I know it is only twitter, but it is still disturbing.

You also have to look at population that has access to twitter. Most Americans have access and my bet is that whom ever did the chart was looking at information that had accounts with positive things to even if it was in the comments and not in the main post.

Cowardess propaganda. Everyone knows where we work, they didn't need some dumb list. Just sit outside the gate at 1700. If any of these clowns had the balls to confront us here they would have done it long time ago. Stick to shooting defenseless civilians punks.

Robert, they target homes and family. For those of us that got out the wire we expected some thing like this to happen.
