Several entertainers have declined to perform for PE Trump's inauguration. Is there any requirement to show if the PE asks?

The radio personality on the station I listen to mentioned Garth Brooks had turned down an invite to perform. I have heard of others opting out. The DJ sounded incredulous that a performer wouldn't want to be the entertainment at this historical event. Would you refuse or perform? Elaborate, please.

Frankly, Maj Kim Patterson, if they don't want to entertain on President-elect Trump's behalf, I don't think he would want them. Were I an entertainer, I would have refused Obama.
Let some military musicians play for him, like the United States Marine Band, "The President's Own" or the United States Army Band, "Pershing's Own". They're much more appropriate for an inauguration rather than some rap/hip hop band or some worn out rock and roll "fading" star.

LTC Stephen C. I agree. I was just watching a performance by a USN band that does a medley of songs similar to "Jersey Boys." Incredible talent!

Nobody wants to see Obama's racist entertainers, like Cop-hater Beyoncé or the other idiots. I think Jackie Evancho and the Beach Boys are very appropriate, and, of course, the military bands/choruses. Many of the entertainers who have publicly "refused to perform" weren't even asked. As for Elton John, who stated he would not perform, I think that is a good thing. It would be highly inappropriate for the "Queen" of England to perform at the inauguration of the President of the United States.

Well, COL Jean (John) F. B., you get your wish! Jackie Evancho will sing the National Anthem at President-elect Trump's inauguration. Evancho said, ''I'm so excited. It's going to be awesome." I agree! Maj Kim Patterson

I'd gladly perform but no one would find it entertaining. I sing like a turkey caught in a barbed wire fence

SMSgt Lawrence McCarter - You definitely should start going to Karaoke night. It's not about the talent its about the harmless embarrassment.
