In Canada, Quebec is not going to charge the man apprehended after shooting up the mosque for the crime of terrorism even though this man had gone to white supremacist websites before he planned his assault on the mosque on January 29th , 2017 killing six men.

I'm not sure of the process or politics of Canada, having never been there, but I've noticed a significant bias in the US affirming your wife's sentiments. The only ones called terrorists seem to be based on a particular faith rather than their actions.

Any criminal gang in America are considered terrorists by definition alone. But when gang member are arrested are they charged with terrorism? I think the term terrorist is being used against Muslims, which is just shit if you ask me. Color, gender or belief does not define a terrorist, its their intentions and actions that do.

I would say yes based as the act of violence was motivated by a political and religious cause. He was upset with his own government's policies and attacked individuals based on their religious beliefs.

If it was just a hate crime the policy would not be a factor - if it was just and act of violence then the religion would not be a factor.
