At a Military forum - there where representatives from Army, Navy, AF and Marines - A question was asked

You find a scorpion in your tent - what do you do.

The Sailor said - well I must be camping but I guess Id kill it.
The Soldier said - Id use my boot to kill it
The Marine said - Id rip its tail off and eat it
The Airman said - Id call room service and find out why there was a tent in my room...

PS. Unintentionally left the Navy out of the road to hell thing. They did play a big part in all the air power and cruise missilry and I think some naval gunfire. I'd bet the Army had some air assets there, and maybe the Marines too. I heard that called "Aberdeen Proving Ground Number Two" by a Colonel who later became a 3-Star, and someone told me there were at least 3 air traffic controllers working full time de-conflicting missions on that road. Just not wanting to credit the USAF for the whole thing when that wasn't true. But, sort of proves my point---same team, and the team is exquisitely lethal.

Dearest Davida: Have you heard the really good one from the Air Force? "I joined the Air Force - because I could!" As the father of a Ranger, Grandfather of a Marine, son and nephew of Combat Engineers in Europe and the Pacific - I love and respect them all. We're top dog!

CPL Campbell, I was in Iraq with the 101st & we were attached to the Marines. I actually was stung by a scorpion in the forehead, which woke me up. We caught it and did exactly what you said: found a camel Spider and fought them. It took 3 of the spiders, but the scorpion got his due. As for me, I had a fever for a few days but kept going. After all the war wasn’t taking a break to wait on me to get to 100% as we all know.

PO3 Bob McCord - Sounds like you were a Corpsman. Am I right? I always said that Corpsman is the toughest job in the Navy, because you never know when you are going too train with the Marines, and then probable the front lines.

I worked with a guy many years ago that ran boats up and down the Delta depositing Marines and Seals inland. He had a Purple Heart evidently that big boat made a worthy target for B40 rockets, his boat was ambushed and he ended up getting blown into the river.

Retired from the Air Force and never heard “nonner”. Reading the comments explains why. But, we intel folk did use the term “knuckledragger” for flightline workers.

Cpl. Schaffer I get why you respect the CG. We Marines were always doing less with more and hand me downs. My first tour to Mt. Fuji we stayed on a condemned Army base. Yes, it was condemned for a reason, But as always, we made it work.

Semper Fi!!
Leg!
Kick the tires and light the fires...
Brown Shoes.
and, all those crazy directions and ship references: Head, Bulkhead, Fore, Aft, Starboard, Port...

So, the funniest thing I ever heard, was when an Army Boat unit worked with us... They are Soldiers, in Army uniforms, but they talked like sailors... so, strange it was...

When I was in Desert Shield we were at an unfinished international airport we slept in the parking garage and crapped in 55 gallon drums (flies everywhere).

The Air Force guys on the other side of the airport slept in air conditioning and got paid "substandard housing pay"... mad, yeah.

Well, maybe not mad, but definitely jealous.

SSG Timothy McCoy - You must be talking to your fellow soldier! I think he deserves a bit more respect! Anyone's daughter who flies's at supersonic speed is someone that is too intelligent to regard you or your comment. I was with SOC Joint Forces and I still received substandard housing. But with all the banter and shit we give each other, let me say Thank you for your service!

SPC Michelle Nelson - Thompson, my stepmom, rest her soul was a nurse. She also taught sex education in the schools. During the condom portion, some wag would always chime in that the one she was using was too small. Her response, "Really?" whereupon she would carefully stretch it out and slide it over her head and unroll it down just over her nose. She would then exhale through her nose and inflate it. The class would go wild. She'd then flick it off and let it fly across the room. She'd ask, "You're bigger than that?" Class dismissed.

And yes, she demonstrated it for me. Damnedest thing I've ever seen!
