63 impala ss
66 chevelle ss 396
Gp bh license plate
I had two that I would give my right arm to have back again...63 Impala SS and 66 Chevelle SS 396. That was a long time ago though! I plan to start building one more in the next couple years, just have not made up my mind what it will be.
Current pride and job is 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 40th Anniversary Edition (250,000 + miles) and would jump in it today and drive it across the country and back. Bought thru AAFES in 2002 and shipped to Germany....that car loved the autobahn and the Germans loved that car. The 11th ACR plate on the front of it, was great conversation maker with many of them as well. Oh, and another old faithful...my 2002 Ford Ranger...my everyday to work and everywhere vehicle.

Did two years, 12'-13', as FSR in Africa and came home to this in my garage. 1968 Chevelle with 327. Needs a little work in every area but damn she is running strong. Just took her out of winter storage a few days ago and she fired right up.

I did to CSM Charles Hayden Passed 7/29/2025 , several times, but I still loved them. I came across some a long time ago that were being sold as surplus - only problem was they cut them in half and you had to weld them back together to use them.

My first time out (as an ROTC cadet) and I almost tested the ROPS on my first drive, being licensed. The left rear brake was out of adjustment and locked up the wheel. I felt it start to throw us sideways and immediately let off to release the brake and steered to correct. This was in no way a reflection of the SGT doing the drivers testing (who almost wet his pants- nervous nelly) but a lifetime of driving farm trucks and such.

Gama goat
The Gamma Goat above was my least favorite, fun but a pain in the ass.

I cruised in the Jeeps, M113, Bradley, and most recently the Stryker.

Majority of my career my main mode of transportation were my LPCs (Leather Personnel Carriers)

I'm betting the gamma goat was the least favorite of all of us that was ever assigned one.

I remember they would climb a tree if it weren't for gravity, remember to check the drain plug is in before fording, and I was amazed they would go so fast! Fun to drive. I wish I had one now also SGM Mikel Dawson - great hunting wagon.

"My" ride...

Second picture is the "Maneuvering Room" or the reactor control room. The panel on the left is the Steam Plant Control Panel (SPCP - throttle for the engine). In the middle is the Reactor Plant Control Panel (RPCP). The panel on the right is the Electric Plant Control Panel (EPCP). I stood watch on the SPCP and the EPCP.

The USS Permit (SSN-594) was decommissioned on 23JUL91. She "ceased to exist" on 20MAY93 - at a grand old age of 31 years.

PO2 Steven Erickson, here's a follow up (with a photo) to my comment above. My friend, Captain Dennis Witzenburg, was the first commanding officer of the Blue Crew of the USS Tennessee (SSBN-734) when she was commissioned on 17DEC88. This photo was taken not long after commissioning. Although hard to discern, he's second from the right (the tallest head).

Lt Col (Join to see), a B1-B did a flyover at the Tennessee Titans' first home game of the 2000 season (10 September 2000). It came in very low from the north and as it got over the stadium, the pilot turned it up into a steep climb and then turned west over Nashville. It was absolutely incredible!
The story was that the FAA got all hot and bothered and changed the rules about flyovers! Who knows?!
By the way, the Titans beat the KC Chiefs that day, 17-14!

Sweet - although it is ironic that the BUFF has been the go to bomber for most of the life of the B1 and B2, and only recently have these two gotten used...

And now the B-1 takes tasks that Global Strike can't or won't. Operation Odyssey Dawn comes to mind. And we've been involved in OEF/OIF/OIR/Operation Enduring Clusterf#$% continuously since Oct 2011.
