Do your best at any job you're assigned to do. If you're assigned to shovel sh*t, be the best sh*t shoveller they ever saw!!!"

Never volunteer for anything, but always be ready to do your best with whatever comes your way.

PVT (Join to see) I will second what SGT Philip Roncari said. Quitting is not an option. Always put forth your best effort. Basic Training and AIT are important milestones, but you will have many others to follow. Be a planner and goal setter and be ready to adjust your plan to changing circumstances. In your lifetime, you will earn a lot of money. Be frugal with your money and invest it wisely. Enjoy your new challenges and adventures.

In civilian life, as a student employee, my crew often used a shop provided for training students of that department. It was managed by a lovable old machinist who once said: "When I was young I invested my money in houses and lots - cathouses and lots of whiskey."

PVT Brandon Campbell- First I think it is admirable that you chose Combat Medic, those people are a very special breed who will always have my respect, their devotion to duty is outstanding,as far as advice ,the only tip from this old grunt is “Don’t Ever Quit,Ever”

NCO's can only take sleep, and give pain (push ups, etc....) They cannot take rank or pay :-)

TRUE EVENT : But I'll Shorten It The Best I Can... I Was Exactly 17 When I Enlisted.
One Afternoon The Assistant TI Really Pissed Me Off About Something I Now Do Not Recall. And I Went After Him, Charging Through The Barracks.....
But FORTUNATELY, For Me; 2 Guys Grabbed Me And Held Me Back.
3 YEARS Pass By, I'm Disembarking The Aircraft At KIMPOS AFB, South Korea.
And While STILL Coming Down The Steps ~ A Voice Rings Out:
"HEY DEVANEY, WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE"?...
Believe It Or NOT.. It Was The Assistant T.I., From Lackland AFB Basic. ..
.He'd Remembered Me, Recognized Me Immediately And EVEN Remembered My Name ~~ From A Distance, Of At Least 50 feet Away..... We Got Together While Awaiting Our Ride & Laughed Our Butts Off For About An Hour Or So... Then I FORGOT To Get His Address.... And Now THAT'S What Really Pisses Me Off...(LOL)

One of my senior shipmates used to say: "They can kill you but they can't eat you; that's against the law."

Agree. Be a leader and take responsibility. Your earliest experiences in the military will not only be recorded in your 201, it will shape the soldier you will be come.

At Any Time You're In Basic Training, It's Important To Know:
What They Do, Is THEIR Job... Even Making You Angry And Being Azholes.
Remember : "Remain Cool & In Control" ~~ That's YOUR Job

I had an AIT 1SG say something that will stick with me forever:
The Military is a slice of society. Society is shit. It is so true. The uniform doesn't make us any better people. Be mindful of that.
Another AIT PSG effectively said be aware of who's ass you have your boot in today lest they have their heel on your neck tomorrow. While in TRADOC you don't know who will end up where relative to your own career.

When you get to MEDIC AIT, take notes and study. There will be a written test. Doing well on it will help you in the future.
