Frankly - any pair of soldiers competent enough to be sent on a 2 person mission should be trained enough, disciplined enough, mature enough, and discrete enough - not to get into any trouble. My personal feeling is gender should have absolutely nothing to do with any kind of military assignment - particularly if the woman is armed and skilled in hand to hand combat. Warmest Regards, Sandy :)

Thank you so much. I am trying to self heal from the worst realization of my past 64 years of life involving this very subject involving trust that turns out to be betrayal after trust. I have never been threw anything like this even though I was sold into sexual slavery @ 10 to 18 after being raped by 2 Catholic priest in my home town of Indianapolis. This breach showed me I never ever have known who I even am. Peace.

I think the first priority of any leader should be what is the mission and who do I have who can successfully complete it.

There is no policy that I know of. Assignment to any mission should be based upon the individuals' qualifications to accomplish the mission. As a Commanding Officer, while I would consider personal situations, accomplishing the mission takes precedence.

1. Question is too vague. 2. It takes two to tango, and if they are serious about their marriage then it won't matter. 3. What kind of mission is run with only two damn folks. 4. There is such a thing as separate rooms.

1LT Sandy Annala - I'd imagine two people staying up all night in a comfortable building with couches and beds would be more likely to fraternize than two people in combat gear in the field trying to kill an enemy.
PFC Donnie Harold Harris I'll refer you to RP 3-1 paragraph 9-2 (b): "Responses are to be professional and respectful." Yours was not, so I downvoted you. Next time I'll just delete the comment.

SFC Kelly Fuerhoff - My sincere apologies for the inappropriate interaction. If you read elsewhere in this series of posts - Donnie has something else major going on - about which I have inquired to see if I can try to help. Warmest Regards & Much Love, Sandy :)

I understand Donnie is having issues, but that is not an excuse for lashing out at folks he doesn't know. It has been said numerous times to act professionally with restraint on this site. With that said, I will pray for him, but I don't condone his behavior/remarks.

What is the policy in the military on pairing up married women with married men on 2-person missions. Should they have such close contact?

Yikes, a lot to unpack here. The only answer I have is people are going to be people. I've personally been married 3 times, all servicemembers. Some people deserve your trust, some don't. I've had "work husbands" who prevented people from bothering me. We didn't use the term though, as it implied an inappropriate relationship, which it wasn't.

I think first consideration should be qualifications to successfully complete the mission and making sure the soldiers you send are qualified to complete the mission. Being professional in the job is the key. I think the command element, when selecting for the mission know their personnel and take all things into consideration. Other than that, I know of no set rule.

i think this discussion has gone about as far as it can. My opinion that's all it is. Clearly some have taken it to far but the policy is you follow orders. If a couple pairing up within a 24 hour period or the worry of it happening you are in the wrong relationship. I only started working with women a little later than most because of career fields. Not one that i enjoyed tthe first few. But women started in the different fields and it was a unknown of treatment. Mostly they were given solf jobs in the maintenance field which I never agreed with. Me i hardly ever cuss or use words that I souldn't say to my Mother but some get to carried away. Lets close this.

It takes crazy to run into enemy fire and save a few men.

PFC Donnie Harold Harris - It takes two pilots and a crew with cool heads, kind hearts, steel nerves, and the good graces of warm, kind, and generous almighty god to manage to extract troops in need repeatedly and successfully. Warmest Wishes & Much Love, Sandy :)
