Haven't deployed but I like these two. First is the 46th Infantry Regiment and the second is the Arizona Army National Guard.

This is a patch I helped design for my last troop unit in Germany, 1981-85.

They aren't "combat patches". They denote foreign service during wartime. Incorrect verbiage fosters the wrong connotation and thus generates pointless debate about who is better than who, and who "deserves" to wear what.

If you are going to chastise people, at least make sure you get it right. The Army combat patch, officially known as the "shoulder sleeve insignia-former wartime service," (SSI - FWTS) recognizes soldiers' participation in combat operations.

SFC Sarmiento while you are correct that they are not properly called "combat patches" they are more often referred to as just that. If you were to refer to them as SFC Dutcher posted most folks, and soldiers, would look at you like you were stoned, drunk or crazy and probably all 3.

Well if it has to be "Combat" I guess the only one that would qualify would be my Razorback wearing a Dixie Cup. USS Arkansas CGN-41 TAD for Desert Storm/Southern Watch/Fiery Vigil in 91 and Ship's Company same ship in 96 for Desert Strike.

My first tour in Vietnam was an XO &CO of Special Forces A-Teams . My second tour was flying Hueys with the 1st CAV and 1st Ave Bde. Of the three, I wore the SF patch on my right shoulder.
