Has your military experience inspired you to get a tattoo?

All of mine are military related. Heck I was getting them in Afghanistan. I had Infidel in Arabic placed just below my neck line on my back, so if I got caught I could never deny my Lord before death.

I don't have any. I thought about getting one, then I thought, "Would you put a bumper sticker on a Ferrari?" :)

Haha, thats funny! In the Navy however, It is a time honored tradition to earn tattoos for certain voyages and achievements. The Golden Dragon, The Shellback, Swallows for Distance, Mermaids for Atlantic sailors, Rigged Ships for Sailing Cape Horn, Nautical Stars of certain colors depict what hemisphere we sailed... etc. A tradition we trace back to our British days with the tattoos remaining the same.

Bulldog tat when enlisted-never regretted getting it or that I placed the tat out of sight except when I want it seen.

This came up on my Facebook memory feed this morning and searched RP for tat discussions. Would like to revisit with my RP connections to see if any of you were inspired to ink your service affiliation

My tats are initials, if I get another, it will be the crossed sabers with the tank for armor.

While half of my body is tattooed, I do not have one that is military related. I got half my chest done 3 days ago and I almost incorporated the SF crest but decided to wait until I retire instead.

Yes, but it was a well thought out decision to add my jump wings as a permanent part of my body and have never regretted it. I did have pause as to how much attention would have been made of it had i been in pow status and again after the murder of a military service member during a plane high-jacking.

One of my tats, still a work in progress.
Also have Si vis pacem, para bellum tat, a Molan Labe tat, and an Infidel tat.
