Two missiles were fired at a U.S. Navy guided missile destroyer Sunday from territory in Yemen controlled by Houthi rebels, a U.S. military spokesman told Reuters. The missiles failed to hit the ship, he said, and “there were no injuries to our sailors and no damage to the ship.” “USS Mason detected two inbound missiles over a 60-minute period while in the Red Sea off the coast of Yemen. Both missiles impacted the water before reaching the ship,” Capt. Jeff Davis said. The U.S. Navy reportedly dispatched ships to the area after the Iranian-backed Houthis fired rockets at a United Arab Emirates military ship last weekend.
