Jurors have found Jose Ines Garcia Zarate not guilty of killing Kate Steinle on Pier 14 in San Francisco in July 2015 in the trial that sparked a national debate over illegal immigration.
Jurors reached the decision Thursday in the sixth day of deliberations after first receiving the case last week.
Zarate was found not guilty of first and second degree murder and involuntary manslaughter. He was also found not guilty of assault with a semi-automatic weapon. He was found guilty of possessing a firearm by a felon.
Steinle was walking with her father and a family friend in July 2015 when she was shot, collapsing into her father's arms. Zarate had been released from a San Francisco jail about three months before the shooting, despite a request by federal immigration authorities to detain him for deportation.

Thankfully as of December 1, the Federal Department of Justice has issued a warrant for the arrest of Jose Ines Garcia Zarate in the wake of this jury declaring him innocent SP5 Mark Kuzinski.
I certainly hope that those jurors who acquitted this murderous thug will be violated by illegal aliens very soon and learn the error of their ways.
To be brutally honest, I hope that Jose Ines Garcia Zarate won't survive his prison sentence.

Good evening LTC Stephen F. - I have a bad feeling that he will not see any time due to the time that he has already spent in jail. If this happens the Feds need to get and recharge him on other laws that this man has broken - just his being here is against the law.

"The arrest warrant was originally drafted in 2015 and amended this week to include violations related to the charges of a felon in possession of a firearm, involuntary manslaughter and assault with a deadly weapon, all of which were filed after the defendant's initial arrest, according to Friday's warrant.
Officials at the Department of Justice told Fox News that there is an existing federal detainer that requires Zarate to be remanded into the custody of the U.S. Marshals to be transported to the Western District of Texas pursuant to the arrest warrant.
After the verdict, U.S. immigration officials announced late Thursday that Zarate would be deported.
"Following the conclusion of this case, ICE will work to take custody of Mr. Garcia Zarate and ultimately remove him from the country," U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said."
