Agreed, I asked a question about the State of the Union, not trumps speech mind you simply the event. Wondering aloud if perhaps it should be streamlined and someone started bashing the idea because he assumed that because Id like the president to say the same speech word for word only in 30 minutes instead of 60 due to applause I hated Trump and must be an Obama lover. Some folks are entirely too on edge.

Too many here have a hair trigger, short fuse, whatever you prefer. As soon as a post surfaces that displeases them or they disagree with, they immediately launch a tirade of insults and often don't even address the topic. If they do, it's vague and often without any proof source. Standard responses seem to be immediate insult, discredit the source and/or the person posting, or a weak argument with little merit. This prompts others to respond likewise i.e. echo chamber. So, no matter how credible a post may be it's just not worth posting in light of all the opposition and negative feedback. That defeats the purpose of even having a discussion group. You are accurate about people being on edge. Tact is not in abundance either, with some lacking more than others. I also think some see this as an outlet to vent and tell people off because their time in service may not have afforded them the opportunity. A fresh opportunity to get the last word and spit in the eye of others. Adults aren't supposed to act like that.

Well stated. But I will offer this: sometimes the back and forth discussions help us to see things from the other person's perspective, and help us to understand where they are coming from. It should be done in a respectful manner, however, and at the end of the day we are all patriotic Americans who were willing to serve our country......and should be respected as such. There are several members on here that I have "battled" over a political point from time to time......but I still hold them all in high regard. I know there are many other subjects that we might completely agree on, and from time to time, we do. What I would ask is to stop the "name calling" or "labeling" that goes on.....belittling someone with an opposing view serves no constructive purpose.

SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" - I saw a picture on FB that showed President Trump shaking hands with President Obama. The caption read. President Trump finally grabbed a p***y. I have to admit I was offended and hurt and it just drained me. The person posting it probably felt it was funny. I failed to see the humor. That is what prompted my post.
