Going on my 32nd year in and never had to do this. I have ran hurt and this year with a torn hamstring. I am amazed at the number of exemptions and how broken people are before the PT test and yet they can still deploy. Just amazing. We have developed a Wellness Camp to address these issues and help other airman through their issues. We run the scope of fitness and well-being. Lots of younger troops that just are not motivated and don't understand why appearance is important to do your job. Only one scope of the whole puzzle.

Put into perspective- my MDG commander is 64 and has a broken neck. He is retiring next year and has always taken his PT test- even sit-ups that kills him in his condition. The man could get a 100% disability, but chooses to do his 20 and retire. He scores in the mid 90s every time. Honor and integrity- part of the core values. This issue goes much deeper and great share SP5 Mark Kuzinski

I did fail one while I was at Lackland down in San Antonio. We did PT as a flight at 0530 M-F for 3+ months. It helped quite a bit. I scored my best run time and lost 3.5" off the waist. Running, circuits, mix and match. Still try and keep that motivation...although some days it doesn't work. Appreciate the great share and read this evening SP5 Mark Kuzinski

Thanks for sharing an approach to remedial physical training SP5 Mark Kuzinski. At first I thought this might be about physical therapy :-)
