Like it, LTC (Join to see)! I watched the Snowbirds perform at Lunken Field in Cincinnati in the early eighties! Their initial approach was most impressive. They came straight toward the crowd, very low, in line and with their landing lights on! It looked like something out of the movie ET!
The first photo shows the initial formation the Snowbirds used the time I saw them in Cincinnati.
The second photo shows more Canadian snowbirds, and I've seen many of them all over the northern Gulf Coast (panhandle area) of Florida over the years!
It's a shame they're grounded, and I hope they get back in the air so they might finish their 2017 airshow schedule. The schedule is on the attached link. PVT James Strait LTC Stephen F.

Back in the 70s my favorite airshow to bring the FB-111 to was at Trenton RCAFB. We would always put in to participate in next years show as soon as we got home from this years. They always had a performance by the Snowbirds. Frankly they put both the Thunderbirds and Blue Angels to shame. Haven't seen them in a while but bet they still put on quite a show.

Thanks LTC (Join to see) for reminding us about the Canadian Snowbird Squadron precision-fight-demonstration team.
Thanks for mentioning me LTC Stephen C.
I don't know why those who were scheduled by orders to report early to training were called snowbirds while those who had orders which required them to stay after were called blackbirds.
At least that is what we used at Fort Benning in the 1970s and 1980s.

It's amazing people still can't seem to believe both can be done. You can have a military and also not destroy the planet you're dependent on.

Well as a bio major and who doesn't take himself to seriously (clearly if I'm still a fireman) I can tell you; global warming, is a real thing. The problem with you theory is that you can have a planet and live with no defense; destroy the planet and it's not going to matter. You're worried about getting a security system whilst your house is on fire around you.

SrA Aj Douglas - here's the situation we are doing due diligence and mitigating pollution. Right now I'm sitting in a 2015 Dodge Challenger with a V6. Big deal. It puts out as much horsepower as a 1970 Dodge Challenger with a 340 six pack yeah that puts out a fraction of the pollution of the older car. It also gets 28 miles per gallon when driven on the highway period 8 speed transmission computer technology xcetera. We have new technologies that are coming in and we don't need people to put in carbon taxes like What's Happening Here in Canada period my utility bills are going up my gasoline is going to go up and I'm not going to drive less I'm not going to go trade in my Challenger for a Smart car that runs on premium gasoline which to me seems asinine. We have billionaires like t.boone Pickens who's invested billions in other alternative energies and let what he's done and others have done Foster development instead of screwing a little guy like me having to pay a lot more for gasoline like what's happening in Canada and now in California. I was just joking that Canada can prioritize it's global warming but it can't prioritize as military period I have post other stories in the past with the reserve and active-duty or getting gutted by lack of money similar to what's happened to us over the years of the sequestration and over what the Air Force and the Navy have had the deal with with lack of spare parts to keep their planes flying. I just hope that they can divert some money and put it to fix or replace the snowbirds aircraft and put 2% of GDP towards revitalizing they're worn out Navy which has no destroyers left as of last year because they rusted-out. I have posted these stories related to this in the past on rallypoint.
