The Allies eventually cut off the German shipping lanes in the Mediterranean sea, therefore, the Germans tried to fly in fuel and supplies, which proved unsuccessful. Once again, it was another logistical defeat.
At the start of war the Allies had to in general, improve the firepower and armor of the tanks to catch up with the German Tigers and Panzers. The Allied superior tanks numbers leveled the battlefield. The Americans built their tanks with ease of production and reliability as a goal. The more complex German tanks were prone to breakdowns, and fixing them often entailed sending them back to Germany. Thus it became a battle of attrition in reference to reliability and supportability in the African, Russian, and Battle of the Bulge of requisite amount of fuel.

Reliability and dependability is the best for pushing the enemy. Not to mention the vast numbers and production in the U.S.
