I am frankly stunned at the people here at RallyPoint who don't get the point of the article, and appear to not understand the wishes of the family. In continuing to support the editorial of Trump Jr., they are behaving no differently than members of the Westboro Baptist Church when they protest at the funerals of service members.

In both cases, the families want to be left alone, to grieve the loss of their loved one. In both cases, those using the death to make political points could care less about the wishes of the family, and only care about how they can use the death to forward their own agenda.

For shame, gentlemen, for shame.

I hope that when you pass, your family doesn't have to bear the same burden.

Capt Gregory Prickett - I didn't excuse anything. I simply stated a fact. "Sad perhaps … but that's the way it is." I personally think that using McCain's funeral … and Aretha Franklin's funeral … to attack Trump was demeaning to McCain and Franklin. Both were bigger than that. There too, sad perhaps, but that's the way it is.

Edited to add - Had Mollie Tibbets been found in a ditch killed by a drunk driver, do you think MADD wouldn't be on it like flies on dog poo? And had the killer been wearing a MAGA cap, do you really think the DNC would have let it pass? It's the nature of the times.

LTC (Join to see) - I don't have a problem with the McCain funeral comments--McCain pointedly excluded Trump from attending the service, making his wishes known while he was still alive. I am confident that he would have supported his daughter's remarks, which is what I am assuming you are commenting on. I don't know about Aretha Franklin's wishes and won't comment. In any event, I have absolutely no problem with using a funeral service to make a political point that is desired by the deceased and the family of the deceased. I do have a problem with outsiders using a death for propaganda, against the wishes of the family, or when they are contrary to the position taken by the deceased during his or her life.

Capt Gregory Prickett - Actually … I've no problem with Meaghan's comments ... she's family and as far as I'm concerned, can say whatever Cindy and the rest of the family will tolerate. The other speakers are ones that seized the opportunity to take a pot shot at the POTUS.

Capt Gregory Prickett it goes back to the ‘Cult of Personality’ that surrounds people who cannot see something they themselves would expect to be done if it were them, but since it involves someone else, who cares? Who cares about the families wishes? Well I do personally,
But I should eat for me.
I feel it’s extremely disrespectful to take a dead person and run the political gamut with their memory. I mentioned it below when Obama spoke on gun control half of RP went absolutely insane saying one shooter doesn’t represent the whole. They also said it was in poor form to the President to mention gun control right after the tragedy. BUT here is a grieving family who wants nothing more than to grieve, left out of a debate that is political in nature (not to mention they have Latinos in the immediate family), but they can’t get that respect. ‘They put themselves out there by asking the public to help’. It shows how low some will go when it doesn’t affect them. Back to your regularly scheduled show....

At first, I thought you were disgusting way the left used McCain’s death to demean the president. (OK, sarcasm off) I read all the reports on ICE removals of illegals that have committed crimes, here or in their home country. Had they been able to deport this POS, that same father would have his daughter. It’s amazing that anyone, especially the father, would chastise the president while excusing the action that led to her death.

MCPO Roger Collins I’m not speaking from a political space. Just one of someone who would honestly be upset if I asked for this to be done to respect my families wishes and you refuse. Kind of like Hannity and the DNC staffer when the family directly asked him to stop and he wouldn’t until the family put the heat on Fox itself. When the people ask to stop, it’s not hard to stop.

MCPO Roger Collins - "Fox's report went sideways shortly after it was posted online and aired on Fox & Friends. It was denounced by the Rich family, D.C. police, Democratic Party officials and even, privately, by some journalists within the network. Within hours, Wheeler told other news outlets that Fox News had put words in his mouth.
Despite those concerns, Wheeler appeared on the shows of Fox Business host Lou Dobbs and Fox News star Sean Hannity, who devoted significant time to the story that night and in subsequent days. In speaking with Wheeler, Hannity said: "If this is true and Seth Rich gave WikiLeaks the DNC e-mails ... this blows the whole Russia collusion narrative completely out of the water."
