PO1 Tony Holland, any of our leaders (Congressmen/women, senators, POTUS, janitor for the Whitehorse, librarian, etc.) who would threaten a Government shutdown that does not affect themselves needs to be voted out and have people that can get along voted in. I’m tired of politicians living like kings while the petty lowly working class suffer. Our politicians are supposed to serve us!

Can we the people establish, vote for and pass legislation that says a Government shutdown means they lose pay before any Governmental department loses pay?

Serious question.

Unfortunately, without a Constitutional Amendment, no. The Constitution mandates that Congress be paid regardless of whether the government is operational or not.

SGT Michael Thorin - Any time! Many times when this happens, the Congressmen will voluntarily donate their salaries to a charity of some kind, but they still get paid.

I would love to see that list Sgt Aaron Kennedy, MS. It would be nice to know which ones Carr enough to contribute.

Either way, it is nice to know that at least we still have some integrity in Congress.

Add freezing federal worker pay and his cabinet members are getting a pay raise thanks to rules for federal pay are different for them and you have to wonder how long before Americans on both sides of political lines are tired of this DC elitist bullshit.

SFC (Join to see) Yes most involved until any indictments are formally published is indeed the same as slightly pregnant until the test results come back positive. Just keeping in line with your nonsense analogy.

MAJ James Woods - Sir, nonsense analogy? No. The point I make is something is against the law or it’s not, period. That’s not nonsense. Over 2 years of intense investigations that have ruined people’s lives for the so called investigation methods used, in addition to the billions of dollars spend, with basically nothing to show relevant to the investigation. I submit that’s nonsense.

I understand the “never Trumpers” strong dislike of him as a person. I felt the same way about HRC and BHO, I felt the one was in it for her personal enrichment and the other because of his impressionable years raised under foreign influences made him believe our County is immoral, so he felt he needed to level the playing field (transform America) to his thinking. I needed to take a shower after I saw them on the news every time. Yet for all my dislike of them, I would never dream of tearing our Country apart to destroy them… the way the powers in Washington are trying to destroy President Trump. I guess that the difference between me and them.

SFC (Join to see) The only lives ruined the last two years are those that had grand jury indictments and guilty pleas officially filed. In otherwords, the justice system doing it’s job against folks acused of committing a felony is working. How is this nonsense?

What’s nonsense is years of fabricating crimes and accusations and publishing such accusations without evidence on partisan media sites for years for the intended purpose of political smearing. Note the likes of select Congressional Republicans admitting the Benghazi investigations and SCOTUS Garland nomination blocking were deliberate political smear campaigns to obstruct and divide the country.
A Special Investigation expositing actual corruption isn’t nonsense just cause you don’t like the outcomes.

MAJ James Woods - Sir, Thanks for bringing this up. It’s not nonsense when one looks at groups of individuals prosecuted and convicted for the same crimes, and see others typically weren’t prosecuted… and if they were, they got a slap on the hand fee to pay, and then got off. It’s called "equal justice under the law", and in these cases it’s not happening. HRC paid Russia for information that the FBI used to secure a FISA Court warrant to wiretap a citizen of the United States… THINK ABOUT THAST SIR!!!

These” FACTS” are not denied. Is “the justice system doing its job” as you say? I don’t believe it is. These facts are currently tearing our country apart and you seem not to want to admit they exist. I guess that’s where we’re at. Denial...

Capt Gregory Prickett, you can explain “equal justice under the law” to MAJ James Wood a lot better than I. You can also explain how people over the last 20 something years that did the same things… like General Flynn did, and got a small fee instead of a major conviction. Let’s see what your memory is like. :)

I give it until the flu outbreak hits the Dulles, Reagan, and BWI TSA screeners on a Friday. Right before the Congressional weekend exodus starts.
