I hadn't thought about owning a personal firearm until a few years ago. The growing uncertainty around the world and the radicalized elements operating globally, persuaded me to not only think about owning a gun, but to go out and purchase one for personal protection and to protect my home and family. A Sig-Sauer was one of my top three pistols, but I ultimately chose a Smith & Wesson M&P Shield. Price was one consideration, but reliability was also key in making my decision... My M&P is small and compact, easy to handle, accurate, easy to conceal and is very reliable. I haven't had a jamb since I purchased it. I've taken a basic firearms course to obtain my license to carry, but followed that up with several more advanced courses on concealed carry and how to react to an active shooter situation... Perhaps a SIG 226 sometime in the future...
