One of My fellow cadets, John L. Sublett Jr at Bordentown Military Institute who himself was an Air Force pilot and Captain flying the KC135 in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam war, had a father who was a WWII ace in a P51 Mustang. His father, John L. Sublett Sr. had 8 aerial kills against German fighters plus badly damaged a German jet fighter in aerial combat. The senior Sublett, had a DFC and 13 air medals in WWII . This picture is of John Sublett, the WWII Ace with His P51. I did get to meet His father when He visited My fellow Cadet His son at BMI the father was a Major although He retired from the USAF as a Lt. Colonel. During the Vietnam War the senior John L. Sublett, the WWII Ace flew for Air America.

Myself and the son, John L. Sublett Jr are in constant contact with each other and are friends on Facebook as well as well as with the BMi Alumni Association. Hie Dad the WWII ace though is now deceased, He died in 2003. My friend Johnny Jr does own an aircraft and still flies a lot.

Thanks Lt Col Charlie Brown ! I can almost feel the cold, smell the gas/oil combo, and feel the G's as he pulls back on the stick. Live or die in less than 5 minutes. Dogfights don't last very long.
