Thank you my friend SGT John " Mac " McConnell for introducing your adjective of the day ecstatic with a heartwarming video of service members and their military service dogs.

Ecstatic and its more common ecstasy have come into more prominent usage within the vernacular in large part due to the street name Ecstasy for MDMA ,3,4 methylenedioxymethamphetamine which is "a synthetic, psychoactive drug chemically similar to the stimulant methamphetamine and the hallucinogen mescaline."

I will be ecstatic when the demand for the drug Ecstasy drops off significantly with folks who used it turning away from illicit drug use and getting sober :-)

Here is a video which gives the unfamiliar with Ecstasy an idea of the visual effects [accentuated colors, staggered images, etc.] I suppose this is the 21st century answer to acid rock videos.
