Years ago when I was on NC National Guard pistol team we were using M1911s. A new shooter asked one of our older shooters when do you know you have enough lube. The old shooter replied " when you see it dripping off your elbow !"

Never had one fail due to lubrication except at Ft Carson in the -15F December winter weather during combat skills pre-deployment training. The M-9s quit running so the Cadre had cans of WD-40 to spray in them to make them run. FN cold!!

CW5 Jack Cardwell - Of course it wasn't over lubrication as it was the type of lube that was used. We still had to push the slides closed with our thumbs now and then. LOL
