Good morning Mikel and my friends on RallyPoint! The tropics, the beach, and the ocean all have the ability to calm, to relax, and to put our lives into the proper perspective. I watched an interview with Rafael Nadal, who himself was born on the island of Majorca in Spain. He was asked if he knew how many rackets he had broken in frustration on the tennis courts. He answered yes. The number was zero. He said his family would have been very disappointed in him if he did such a thing. Here is a quote from Nadal.

"I love the beach. I love the sea. All my life I live within — in front of the sea."

Living on an tropical island, one always lives within the confines of the beach and sea. There is a lesson to be learned there. "Live within, in front of the sea." The tropics calm us in their warmth, the beach relaxes us with that sound of the ebb and flow of the sea, and the great oceans show us both the shortness and smallness of our own lives as well as the power and greatness of infinite nature.

May you all bask in the calm, relaxing, and contemplative life of living within.

I expect that you have wonderful memories of fun in the sun with family and friends and may well have spent great times at beaches during your life David.
I pray that you and I are blessed with a fuller comprehension of the love of God profoundly demonstrated in the atonement of the Son, my brother-in-Christ SGT (Join to see).
Thank YOU, dear God for creating this world and our moon which impacts the tides. Thank YOU for creating sand and enabling mankind to establish beaches on lakes as well as by the sea and ocean.
Thank YOU, dear God, for providing wisdom and skill to medical doctors, nurses and technicians. Thank you for natural shade and enabling the development of sunscreen and manmade shade through tentage, awnings and other devices.
I pray that YOU alert those in danger from exposure to the sun’s ray including those susceptible to skin cancers. Give wisdom to medical personnel and open the eyes of patients to change behavior if warranted who smoke, chew tobacco, are alcoholics or at risk of drug addiction.
I pray that families and friends take their entire family on vacations and weekends to areas where they can spend time outdoors frolicking in the sun and rains in warmer months and snowy areas in the winter where they can sled, ice skate, make snow angels and ski or snowboard.
I pray that parents raise their children to appreciate the blessings of God including HIS creation of the flora and fauna, HIS control of the winds, rains, snow, rainbows, clouds, and the tides.
I pray that teachers are educating children in basic English language, geography, geology and landforms and earth sciences founded on logical and well-reasoned foundations..
I pray that each one of YOUR adopted children and their loved ones sleep well Monday night.
By the power and authority of the Name above all names, Jesus the Christ.

LTC Stephen F. - I was stationed at Eglin AFB for 10 years so I've had plenty of beach days. I spent a month in Panama do a sub-surface range clearance so we went diving quite a few days there as well. Good times.
