Presumably, the police had access to the surveillance video and the "match". If they didn't, then that is a problem. Seems like there needs to be another step in the chain where someone validates the result, unless we just have a machine that "matches" a face and prints an arrest warrant.

Elon Musk has been warning of AI. First of all, AI are program's written by human's who are capable of mistakes and great misdeeds. A "rule's engine" cannot create itself. The engine and its rules have to be created by a human. Garbage in, Garbage out!
