LTC Stephen Conway During our tour of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada in 2001, the tour guide told of how many Canadian Soldiers had gone up the big wooden ramp at Pier 21, Port Halifax enroute to Europe during WW II. I cannot find a reference, but I want to recall that over a million Canadians had gone up that ramp to board a ship for Europe.
