Youngkin picks opponents of 'radical' CRT and outsiders for top education positions

Youngkin coming in Hot: New Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin chose two critics of critical race theory for top leadership positions within the VA Dept. of Education, sticking to his campaign promises to ban the curriculum. Gov. Youngkin said he wanted to “restore excellence in education,” ensure schools remain safely open, “ban critical race theory and political agendas from our classrooms, and rebuild our crumbling schools."

The newly sworn-in Republican Guv also signed 11 executive actions on his first day in office which included ending CRT in schools, investigating officials' wrongdoing in Loudoun Cty, and to allow parents the freedom to decide mask-wearing for their own children in the schools.
