Putin is no Krushchev and we saw how quickly he backed off when US might was stacked up against him. Plus Putin may have nukes but nothing like Krushchev had at his disposal.

I suspect that things are heating up as Russian warriors are being outmatched to a certain degree by the Ukraines forces.

1939 the NAZI rhetoric was that Germany wanted nothing more than to insure its own security and to lift off the yoke of oppression of peoples in what it considered its former territories. They stressed they wanted peace with all, but would respond with force to acts of aggression against them. What's next for Russia, a non-aggression treaty with China, followed by China's retaking of Taiwan, while Russia ramps up their action in Ukraine?
To a Chinese invasion of Taiwan we've promised a military response. Will this be in unison with ANZAC, Japan, and possibly S. Korea?
The nuclear threat??? Treat it as real, and put our assets on alert, it's prudent though I don't think a likely scenario. No win for anyone.
