My HOR was in Ohio and when I got out I went to that VA to get checked out and get my first disabled rating. The Dr. I saw wanted me to get a x-ray, he then told me that he didn't want to hear how I felt or what I could/couldn't do. He also didn't want to see a copy of my medical records that I had brought along. After he looked at the x-ray he said "oh yes you have had a surgery on your back" I told him that all he had to do was to look at my back & see the scar. He only gave me 10%. I also had some dental work done, they use dental students from OSU that is right next door instead of VA dentist. The full uppers and partial plate they issued to me never fit right, and they gave me a "buck tooth" look. After I moved out here I went to the VA here and on my first C&P exam I was told that I should have been rated at least at 50%, and when I went to a civilian dentist, he took one look at the teeth the VA gave me and laughed, he said that they really messed up bad. I have learned that the Ohio VA is known for "low balling" ratings. I love my home state, but I hate that VA hospital.

It wouldn't surprise me. My military records have my mother's name wrong, and my active duty medical records are al missing. The VA operates about the same.
