For the past two years, thousands of people have descended on a public park in Franklin, Tennessee — a suburb 30 minutes outside Nashville — for an LGBTQ pride festival featuring live music, food trucks and crafts vendors. Clayton Klutts, the president of the Franklin Pride organization, viewed the event as a glowing symbol of how far a small, conservative community had come in terms of LGBTQ acceptance.
But this year, Franklin Pride’s attempts to obtain a city permit have been met with fierce resistance. What had been a procedural formality in past years has become a bitter flashpoint that mirrors similarly heated debates roiling the United States.
“The idea that we wouldn’t allow a pride event in the year 2023 is a little bit hard to fathom,” Klutts said. “It feels like we’re going backwards.”

Here is the thing for me. I never had a problem with LGBTQ over the years. Your life your choice go do your thing. I started having a problem with it when it becomes a subject that is thrown down my throat and beign taught to my kids and grandkids...and it becomes the mainstream for every conversation. That is when it became an issue for me. You want to have your festivals, then go ahead. But don't come after me or mine if we don't agree with you. Live your life and we will live ours....but don't ram your lifestyle down my throat.

Completely agree. I admit to flying off the handle and attacking back with over-the-top statements a lot of times. Live and let live. If you want to do something, go for it as long as it doesn't affect me directly or indirectly.
Where it becomes an issue is when I'm forced (again, directly or indirectly) to support your choices. No, I'm not a homophobe if I don't support a gay life style .. just as I'm not a luddite if I don't like the iPhone.
Calling someone a bigot because they don't want to wear a gay-pride jersey, saying someone is against human rights if I don't want biological males to compete against biological females, and saying that people need to be ostracized from society because they didn't march in a gay-pride parade. These are just a few (a VERY few) instances from the "radical gay rights activists" that have occurred.

@PO3 Bowen - you left-wingers (no longer extremists on the left but rather the entirety of it) have no problems with mass murder (leftist want to kill babies that are full-term ... remember, all the left are extremists now according to your logic), portraying a mass shooter as a 'victim' (those where left whackos that were yelling about the '7th victim' in the Tennessee shootings), allowing upwards of 100k deaths due to fentanyl poisoning (again, used to be the extremists on the left and according to your logic it is not all the left) because of no border security, and to allow criminals to run rampant because you want to get rid of the police.
