Night before crossing the line ceremony was at sea and at Captains discretion. What is nthe world does a drag show have to do with military readiness. It is a divisive subject and therefore whatever side you are on will divide airmen and casue disruption in the ranks. Prejudicial to good order and dicipline.

I'm a Shellback. There was only one guy dressed as Amphitrite. It was for only the ceremony and the unlucky chucklehead had a mop for hair. Not exactly a drag queen. And there was no 'night before' on the ship I was on.

SGT (Join to see) I Definitely came from a Different Time in the Military. Strip Shows were not Unheard of some Base Facilities and Now the Prudes are Upset by Guys Dressed in Drag? INT WTF! Religious Zealots, Christian Taliban and Wimps!

Unless Drag Shows have changed I do not understand the Hoopla.
It is Men dressed as Women and entertaining, singing songs for ADULTS.
The only Drag Show I have seen they didn't strip, there was nothing of a sexual nature except you knew they were men.
Some of them were actually very good at impersonating the actual artist they were posing as. The guy that performed as Cher, the one that posed as Celine Dion, and the Diana Ross guy were spectacular singers, the one who did Phyllis Diller was hilariously funny.
